ProSpine Orlando – Expert Chiropractic Care for Back Pain, Car Accidents & Sports Injuries
The treatment is focused on using the proper techniques of Chiropractic medicine to align the joints.
A licensed Chiropractor physician will perform consultation and evaluation of the patient's clinical status,
focusing on the history of the patient's injury and analysis of current imaging studies (X-ray / MRI / CT).
If needed, the doctor will determine the correct treatment to bring you back to your optimal health.
Contrary to what some online videos show—people being strapped by towels or chains, others using hammers
and chisels to impact the spine—this is not Chiropractic and not part of the curriculum of Chiropractic universities.
Chiropractic techniques are gentle, precise and specific to the joint that needs alignment.
Chiropractors treat patients that need care from a simple wellness visit to an injured patient who is unable to walk due to extreme sciatic pain.
Chiropractic Medicine is a health care profession, regulated by the Department of Health, and dedicated to the non-surgical treatment of disorders of the nervous system and/or musculoskeletal system.
Generally, the Doctor of Chiropractic maintains a unique focus on spinal manipulation and treatment of surrounding structures. By analyzing the spine and understanding what is going
on with the joints, discs and nerves, the doctor gains great insight into possible causes.
Many studies have concluded that manual therapies commonly used by chiropractors are generally effective for the treatment of back pain, as well as for treatment of headaches, lumbar herniated
discs, radiculopathy, neck pain, hand and foot numbness, among other conditions. If needed, images (X-ray / MRI) will be ordered for further analysis and development of a treatment plan.
Becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic takes at least 8 years of education. The journey is very demanding, and rightfully so. Doctors of Chiropractic need to be knowledgeable, experienced, and prepared to care for those who entrust them with their health. They go through extensive training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, chemistry, bacteriology, diagnosis, neurology, psychiatry, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, image interpretation (X-ray / MRI / CT), spinal adjustments, biomechanics, among many other courses before they can earn their Doctorate Degree. Then the doctor needs to pass four phases of the national chiropractic examinations in order to be licensed to practice Chiropractic Medicine.
Dr. Bastos received his Chiropractic Medicine Doctorate from Palmer University in Davenport, Iowa. He has been practicing for the past 19+ years helping people achieve a better quality of life. Dr. Bastos says that “treating and analyzing each patient individually, instead of a general approach, based on his symptoms and history, gives the patient a better chance of recovery and makes our practice a successful one.” Originally from Bahia, Brazil, Dr. Bastos moved to the United States in 1995. In 1996 he started his studies to graduate as a computer programmer and worked in that field for 8 years before switching to study medicine, focusing on the chiropractic specialty. He graduated with merit and since then he has helped thousands of patients to reach better health.
